Dallas Police Seek Driver In Hit-and-Run Accident That Killed Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was killed in North Dallas on Monday by a hit-and-run driver. Dallas police are now asking for help to find the driver.

The motorcyclist was named as Roland Olvera, 41. He was traveling on Northwest Highway over the Dallas North Tollway yesterday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup truck that failed to stop.

Olvera was ejected from his bike and thrown over the guardrail causing him to fall 20 feet off an overpass onto the Dallas North Tollway. He was rushed to the hospital where he was reported dead.

“The driver sped from the accident scene and never stopped. While the driver was not at fault for the accident, Dallas police vehicle crimes detectives said, he or she could still face charges for failure to stop.”

Dallas News released the following information regarding the hit-and-run driver:

The pickup was described as a 1999 red Ford F-150 with an extended cab and damage to the right front side. It has chrome wheels, a tool box in the back and Texas license plate 59CRH8.

Anyone with information regarding the driver this accident is urged to contact the Vehicle Crimes Unit at 214-670-5818 or call 911.
