Allegan County Motorcycle Accident Verdict
A jury in Allegan County rendered a verdict yesterday for a biker who suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident. The negligent driver caused the accident and the motorcyclist suffered injuries, including scars and disfigurement. The jury returned a verdict for the biker in the amount of $72,100.00.
This was an excellent verdict for Allegan County, an area where jurors are considered to be conservative when it comes to awarding money to injury and accident victims. The insurance company for the negligent driver offered to settle the case before trial for $30,000, but this clearly was not enough to compensate the biker for his injuries. In addition to the verdict amount, the biker was eligible to receive Michigan No-Fault Insurance Benefits for lost wages, medical expenses, and other services.
